It is the most effective and safest laser with the property of maximum absorption by haemoglobin and melanin and least absorption by xanthophylls pigment of macula.
The ND-Yag crystal on excitation emits an infra red wave length of 1064mm. This infra red laser emission is passed through a KTP crystal which doubles the frequency and therefore halves the wave length and out comes monochromatic pure green 532mm laser emission.
Fundus Camera with Fluoresceine Angiography:This is a product of Topcon, Japan. This is the most important equipment in eye-care laser treatment. With the help of this equipment photographs of the interior parts of the eye, defects in the alignment of the blood vessels in the retina can be taken basing on which laser treatment is initiated. This equipment is useful in the treatment of eye diseases like diabetes retinopathy, CRVO, Eales disease, C.S.R. and age related macular degeneration (exudative type). Fluoresceine angiography gives basis for the laser treatment.

'A' Scan and 'B' Scan for Ophthalmic use : These gadgets are from Nidek, Japan. The entire diagnostic ophthalmic ultrasound is based upon pulse-echo technique. they are useful in finding axial length measurement, intra ocular lens - power calculations, viterous opacities, retinal detachment, intraocular tumour masses, intraocular foreign bodies, orbit conditions etc.
